Kaiju Blue Unleashes Their Inner Monsters

"Wake up, Inner Monster
Unleash wild expression
Take the first step unto new horizons"

For their latest exhibition, Kaiju Blue sent out BLObPUS blanks to 10 modern artists along with the question, "Is it possible to fuse fine art with soft vinyl figures?" The answer? Let's just say that results may vary...

The show runs through the 19th, so there is still time to see it in person and judge for yourself!

Couldn't figure out if this was part of the show

  1. I just saw this a few days ago at Kaiju Blue. I gotta say the Baboushka one was my favorite (and it already sold!). Some of them are pretty neat although I found the one covered with yarn to be rather uncreative. The last image is not part of the exhibit. It was part of another display for some upcoming animation (I believe).

By the way, saw you guys in 21st century prints yesterday!! Great collection. Do you know the girl who appeared above you? She had some pretty awesome stuff as well.

  2. Cute and creepy and the same time! Imagine putting one of these into a gift box and giving it to a kid. The look on their face would be priceless. - Different Anonymous.

  3. @Anon 1: I was partial to the 70s ball-tripping black light poster guy myself, with that nasty licker at a close second.

Thanks for checking out the magazine! Sadly none of the real gems on the shelf are visible in the photos... I have talked to the girl on the other page at several Umezz events, but don't know her all that well. The first time I met her was at the show she mentioned in the article, where she and her friend went as Monta and Pyonko from Makoto-chan. Here's photographic evidence:

@Anon 2: That'd be a good way to judge whether your child is a keeper or not!
